Domains

A starting point for any website is it’s domain – this is the official registration of the website name that is used as a website address.  There are a couple of key points that need to be stressed when it comes to domain names:

1 – When selecting a domain name, use keywords that a person searching for your website would normally use to find it.

2 – Stick with .com domains – particularly if your website is business based

3 – Shorter is better – make it easy to remember

4 – Consider how you are going to integrate with other marketing channels – hyphens or using a number such as house4sale – many times do not make it easy to convey the website url in other media formats – keep it simple
